Self-adhesive masks for painting the road wheels of the Pz.Kpfw. IV tank in 1:35 scale. It is neither a kit nor a set of parts but an accessory for a model that solves one particular and unpleasant part of a build: the transition between the rubber tire of a wheel and the metal disc. The masks are cut exactly to the size of the wheels from the MiniArt kit, which is why the target kit is given in the name as well, since with this subject the sets for individual manufacturers differ precisely in the diameter of the wheels.
How the set saves time
The Panzer IV has eight doubled road wheels on each side, that is, sixteen pairs of tires in total, which have to be set apart from the discs. By hand that means turning the model under a desk lamp and correcting overspray with a brush. With a mask it becomes mechanical work that takes a few minutes and the edge is the same width everywhere.
First spray the wheels with the dark color of the rubber and let them dry thoroughly. Then stick a ring mask onto each tire, press it down around the perimeter with a soft stick and apply the base shade of the vehicle over it. Spray perpendicular to the wheel and in thin coats, so that the paint does not get under the edge. Once it is dry to the touch, remove the masks with tweezers. Any remaining small overspray is easier to touch in than the whole circumference. It is practical to paint the wheels before fitting them to the hull, when you have access to them from all sides.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
