What the tokens are for

Cube tokens are the simplest aid a table with figures knows. You put them beside a unit or on a card and what you would otherwise have to remember is visible at once: how many wounds the unit has already taken, how many rounds are left, whether it is activated, who holds which objective. On the table red suggests itself above all for wounds and damage, because everybody understands it with no explaining. Compared with paper markers they have the advantage that they do not slide, they do not bend and they are easy to pick up.

The workmanship

These are cubes with a 10 mm edge, that is one centimeter, made of red acrylic. Acrylic is a hard plastic with a smooth surface and its color runs all the way through, so it cannot chip at the edges the way it happens with painted wood. Ten millimeters is among the usual sizes of game tokens, so the cube takes up no more room on a base than necessary and yet you can easily reach for it.

Advice on use

It pays to agree with your fellow players on one meaning for a color and to keep to it for the whole game; otherwise the table soon fills with cubes nobody can remember the meaning of. Store the tokens in a resealable bag or a box so that they do not get lost. They are cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. Solvents, alcohol and nail polish remover have no place on acrylic, as the surface would go cloudy and crack.
