A base with a rock motif from the fantasy range of figure bases. It is ready for a free-standing figure: the stone forms a raised, irregular surface for the figure to stand on and gives it a stronger silhouette than it can achieve on a flat board.
Collectors of figures will appreciate it, and so will modelers who build small scenes with one or two figures. The rock carries no period markings, so it does not tie the figure to a particular time or landscape and goes equally well with a fantasy hero, a historical figure or a science-fiction figure. In a larger scene it can be turned into a high point for the figure to look out from.
Before painting, wash the base in lukewarm soapy water, degrease it and let it dry thoroughly. Cut off the excess material and the marks left by production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand what is left. Match the choice of glue to the material of the part; cyanoacrylate glue or a two-part epoxy holds a figure to a base reliably, and with taller figures it pays to strengthen the joint with a wire pin drilled into the leg.
The figure, paints, glue and material for the growth are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The manufacturer gives the dimensions of the base and the recommended preparation in the instructions for the product.
