AMMO Scratches Effects (AMMO of Mig Jimenez)

AMMO Scratches Effects is a ready-made weathering product from AMMO of Mig Jimenez intended to render small scratches and chips in the paint of plastic models and figures realistically. It is not a kit and not a paint as such but an auxiliary fluid, a chipping fluid, which makes it possible to reveal the layer of paint underneath and to imitate the places where the top color has rubbed away over time. The product is odorless and thinnable with water. The package has a volume of 35 ml.

Use

• Apply the base color that is meant to show through where the chips will be to the model - most often a shade of metal or of an older finish.
• Over the dry base, apply a thin layer of Scratches Effects with a brush and let it set.
• Spray or apply the top color over it (an acrylic one is best).
• Once dry, dampen the spot with water and pass over it gently with a stiffer brush, a toothpick or a wooden stick - the top color will flake away in small patches and fine scratches and chips will appear.
• Suitable for vehicles, aircraft, equipment and figures where you want natural wear of the paint.

Modelers who want to give their models realistic traces of use and of aging paint without laboriously painting the scratches by hand will appreciate it. Thanks to the easy activation with water it suits moderately advanced builders learning the chipping technique as well.
