This is a modeling material from AK Interactive, a metal coil in a silver finish with an outside diameter of 4 mm. It is neither a part of a particular model nor a kit; it is raw material from which you build details of your own. Most often it takes the place of what cannot be made in plastic: a flexible hose, a coiled cable, a cable conduit or a spring in a suspension.
A diameter of 4 mm is one of the coarser ones in the range on offer; it comes into its own above all in larger scales and on scenic details, where a finer coil would disappear. It is cut with side cutters, and after the cut level the end with a file, otherwise the first turn will lift. If you want to bend the coil into a shape and keep it there, run a wire of matching thickness through it and shape the two together, because the coil on its own tends to spring back. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue in spots, not along its whole length. The silver surface takes paint better after degreasing and a light primer; if you leave it bare, it reads as a metal braid.
