SPARE JARS FOR MIXES

This is NOT a paint. These are empty spare bottles (jars) intended for storing mixes that the modeler prepares. The package contains no colorant, pigment or thinner at all: what you buy are clean empty containers with a cap. The name can easily be mistaken for a ready-made paint, so it is worth being clear about this right at the start.

The point of the jars is simple. When you mix your own shade, a wash, a filter or paint thinned for the airbrush, some of the mix is usually left over. In an open palette it dries out by the next day, and the same tone cannot be matched again. Pouring it into a sealable jar keeps the mix for next time and holds the color consistent across a whole model or diorama, which matters above all on larger builds done in stages. The jars are also useful for splitting an over-large pack of paint into smaller working batches, or for carrying paint to modeling meetings.

Who the jars are for

For modelers who mix their own paints and want to use them again, and for anyone who works on long-running projects and needs to come back to the same shade. They are not intended for someone looking for a ready-made paint; that has to be bought separately.

Safety: stored paints and thinners may be flammable. Keep the jars closed, out of the reach of children, away from sources of heat and from open flame. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the paint concerned.
