Spot-On Pigment No. 28 Smoke Grey

A loose modeling pigment from the numbered Spot-On line by VMS. The item carries the sequence number No. 28 and the shade name Smoke Grey, that is a smoke gray. Within the line it stands for the dark traces of combustion, which appear somewhere other than dirt from the ground and have a different character too, because they settle in the direction of the airflow.

Use

• Exhaust traces behind the exhausts of vehicles, aircraft and ships.
• The area around gun muzzles and machine gun positions after firing.
• Sooted surfaces above engine compartments and around ventilation grilles.
• Traces of fire and smoldering in dioramas and on wrecks.

Work tips

Smoke traces have a direction. Apply the material from the source outward and weaken it gradually, so that the airflow which created the trace is apparent. On aircraft the trace runs back along the fuselage, on vehicles it widens upward and back from the exhaust. The darkest spot belongs right at the source and should be small. If a trace comes out too strong, it is enough to clear the edges with a clean dry brush and tone the intensity down that way.
