Statická tráva 2mm, béžová, 50g

Static grass 2 mm, beige, 50 g package

A loose scenery material for dioramas and layouts, not a kit. These are short fibers 2 mm long that are sprinkled onto a substrate coated with glue. With an electrostatic applicator the fibers are charged, stand upright to the substrate and once the glue has dried they stay upright like real grass. The package holds 50 g. A length of 2 mm corresponds to low, mown or trodden-down growth — in large modeling scales to grass of roughly seven centimeters, in smaller ones to a low grass carpet.

Use in a diorama

The beige shade is purely dry straw with no green component. It suits stubble fields after harvest, the parched areas of high summer, scenes from the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Middle East, the surroundings of earth-built structures, dusty tracks and trampled yards. It serves equally well as a light top layer when layering: sprinkled thinly over a darker base it creates the impression of sun scorching and brightens an otherwise flat grassy area.

Application tips

Coat the area with PVA wood glue or with a glue intended for grass. Hold the applicator a few centimeters above the surface and sprinkle the material gradually, so that you keep control of the density. Once dry, vacuum up the unattached excess or shake it onto paper and use it again. In dry scenes, thin the growth out deliberately and leave bare spots — a continuous carpet in parched country does not read as credible. Finish the blending with the terrain with a fine dust pigment. The material is dusty, so do not breathe it in and work in a ventilated room.

Who it is for

• Builders of desert and Mediterranean dioramas
• Modelers who build stubble fields and parched areas
• Those who tune the coloring of grassy areas by layering shades
• Owners of an electrostatic applicator

This is a scenery material for building dioramas, not a model kit. The glue, the applicator and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
