Working with them

Before first use, wipe the holders with alcohol; from manufacture there tends to be a residue of grease on them and neither paint nor glue then holds. If you want to paint them, start with a spray primer and let it dry thoroughly so that the finish does not rub off during handling. Edges that are often taken between the fingers will take going over with a matte varnish. Use cyanoacrylate glue only where an assembly is meant to stay together permanently; otherwise keep the option of taking it apart.
