This is a plastic kit of a collector's figure from the world of Transformers, not a finished product. The package holds molded parts from which the modeler assembles a standing robot figure. FLAME TOYS specializes in licensed Transformers models and its kits are among the most elaborate in this genre. Optimus Prime is the best known character of the whole series, so the model tends to be among the most sought after.
Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobot faction in the Transformers series. His appearance has long been settled: a powerful figure with prominent shoulders, a distinctive mask over the lower part of the head and a color scheme derived from a truck tractor. The model captures the robot form of the character and his characteristic silhouette.
Remove the parts from the sprue with thin nippers and level the sprue gate remnant with a knife or a file; on colored plastic every white burr shows. Even without painting, the model is considerably lifted by shading the panel lines and a final clear coat: matte on the large surfaces, gloss on the accents. On moving joints apply paint only thinly, as a heavy coat increases friction. Dry-fit the large assemblies before the final join so that you know how the parts line up.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
