Grass strips — early summer are finished lengths of grassy growth in a fresh, not yet dried-out green. All you need to do is cut off the length you need and glue it onto the base of a diorama.

Grass strips are a finished scenery material for building dioramas and model railroad layouts. It is not a kit and not a loose grass, but a continuous strip of grassy growth that is cut to the length you need, given glue and laid onto the base. The early summer color version matches the growth at the turn of spring and summer — a rich, not yet dried-out green with a fine lighter brightening, the way grass looks before the first mowing.
The strips suit anywhere you need to grass an elongated area quickly and convincingly: the edges of field and forest tracks, ditches, field margins, railroad embankments, the edges of runways and parking areas, or strips along fences and low walls. Because it is finished growth with fibers of uneven height, it looks more natural than evenly sprinkled static grass and it covers small irregularities in the substrate as well. The material is not tied to a single scale — in larger scales it serves as taller meadow grass, in small ones as a mature grass strip or low growth.
First paint the substrate an earth shade, so that the bare base does not show through any gaps. Glue with PVA wood glue or thin latex and press the strip down for a few minutes. Never cut the edges to a straight line — notch them irregularly into wedges and points, so that the transition into the surrounding terrain does not show. You can fine-tune the shade with very thinly diluted acrylic paint or with pigments, and darken the lower part of the growth with a dusty tone. The individual seasonal versions can be combined in one scene to create a naturally uneven meadow.
This is a scenery accessory for building dioramas, not a model kit. The glue, the paints and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
