A riveting sheet in 1:72 scale with triple rows of rivets, that is with bands in which the rivets are arranged in three parallel rows side by side. On real machines rows like these run along spars, flanged joints and the edges of the skin. On a model this detail is either entirely absent or gets lost while sanding joints and filled seams, and that is exactly where the sheet comes in. Against riveting by hand with a wheel it has the advantage that the pitch and the straightness of the row are set in advance and do not depend on a steady hand.
Sheets of this kind are applied as a waterslide decal. Prepare the base with a gloss varnish, so that no air is trapped under the elements, cut out the band you need, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to move. Move the band into place, line it up straight and blot the excess water away with a cloth from the center toward the edges. A decal softener will help the decal bed down into curves and engraving. Once dry, varnish the surface so that the edge of the carrier film disappears. The exact procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Apply the rows along an axis marked in advance, in pencil or with tape laid alongside; a crooked row of rivets shows more on a finished model than none at all. Work in shorter sections, as a long band is hard to line up. Let everything dry perfectly before varnishing.
This is an accessory to a kit. The kit itself, paints, varnish and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
