Tropical Mix

Tropical Mix

A mix of elements of low tropical vegetation from AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is neither a kit nor a paint: it is a ready scenic material with which you create the undergrowth of a tropical setting on a diorama. The material is set into a scene piece by piece, so you control the density of the growth yourself.

Why mixing species pays off

Tropical undergrowth reads as such precisely because several different leaf shapes grow side by side in it. A uniform growth looks artificial; a mix of different elements makes a scene credible at once. It also holds that in the tropics the vegetation is densest in the lower layer, along paths and clearings, and that is exactly where it pays to concentrate the material.

Use

• Jungle undergrowth, the edges of cuttings and paths, overgrown banks
• Completing coastal and island subjects from the Pacific theater
• It is set into the texture of the terrain or glued with PVA glue, or spot-glued with super glue
• Try the arrangement dry and work in uneven clusters, as a regular grid gives a scene away
• The shade can be evened out with a light coat of thinned acrylic paint or with dust pigment near the ground

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas and vignettes with a tropical subject, for modelers of vehicles from the fighting in the Pacific and Southeast Asia and for tabletop players who build their own terrain. It goes well with soil textures and grass foliage from the same manufacturer's range.

The material, the number of pieces in the package and their dimensions are not stated here.
