Model Craft universal abrasive block, 240 grit is the finest grit of the abrasive range. It serves for the final smoothing of the surface before painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
An abrasive block from the universal range, 240 grit. This is a finishing grit: it practically no longer shapes the material, but it removes the marks of the medium grit and leaves a smooth, even surface ready for a primer coat. The block is held in the hand and its flat face helps to keep things level where loose abrasive paper would follow the unevenness of your fingers. It can be used on metal, wood, plastics, leather, rubber, laminate and painted surfaces, so it serves equally well on a plastic kit, on the wooden deck of a ship model and on a metal casting. Against abrasive paper it has one practical advantage: it does not tear and when clogged it can be restored by knocking it out, so it lasts a considerably longer time.
For modelers who want a surface with no visible sanding marks, above all under gloss varnishes and metallics, where every scratch stands out. It also serves well for intermediate sanding between coats of paint and varnish.
Sanding produces dust, which must not be breathed in. Work in a ventilated space and use a respirator and eye protection, especially with resin parts and putties.
