US 4th Infantry Division Plaque 25mm from Dynamo-Models is a plaque with the badge of the American 4th Infantry Division. An accessory for a diorama, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plaque 25 mm in size with the badge of the 4th Infantry Division of the United States Army. It does not touch the model in any way: it is a diorama accessory with which a finished scene, the base of a figure or a shelf in a display case is labeled. The smaller of the pair of sizes suits vignettes and narrow plinths, where a larger plaque does not hold its proportion. The badge is used in scenes from the Normandy landings and from the later fighting in Western Europe.
On 6 June 1944 the 4th Infantry Division wrote itself into history when it became the first American infantry division to land on Utah Beach. From there it advanced through the interior of Normandy, took part in the liberation of France, and its units were among the first to enter Paris. There followed the hard autumn fighting on the German border and commitment in the Ardennes. The division had already been raised in the First World War, and its badge with four ivy leaves refers to the Roman numeral four in its designation.
With this badge it is the clean divide between the areas that counts, so apply the colors thinly and rather in several layers than in one thick one. Mark out the edges with a fine brush and correct any overruns with the base tone. Settle the plaque so that it is not covered by figures standing at the front of the base. Once it is finished, a light lightening of the engraved lines helps to keep the design legible even when seen from a distance.
