This item is an emblem plaque for a diorama, not a model and not a kit. It is fitted to the base of a finished model, to the edge of a display case board or to the caption of a scene. The size of 40 mm follows from the name; the same emblem is also worked in a smaller 25 mm form, so you choose the format according to the dimensions of the scene.
The American 91st Infantry Division is a formation with roots in the First World War, where it proved itself in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. In the Second World War it served in Italy: it advanced up the Arno valley, took part in breaking through the Gothic Line in the Apennines and, at the close of the war, in the advance into the Po Valley. The Italian battlefield is accordingly its natural context - that is mountainous terrain, stone villages and broken roads, not the open country of western Europe.
Italian dioramas tend to be strongly textured, with stone, rubble and lush greenery. So place the emblem on a smooth edge of the base away from the terrain, where it has a quiet area around it. Level and degrease the ground beforehand and carry out the fitting only after the terrain, the weathering and any growth are finished - otherwise fine plant materials easily cling to the edge of the plaque.
