A deep green undercoat for forest watercourses and shaded pools. It seals the surface of a bottom and gives it the tone of water rich in plants.

A forest stream or a small river in a shady valley never looks blue. Humic substances wash into the water from the leaf litter, algae show through from the bottom and the image of the crowns of the trees reflects off the surface in such a way that the whole watercourse turns green to a dark, almost bottle shade. A pond in a hollow way or an oxbow under bank vegetation has the same color. Anyone who undercoats such a scene in blue will get water from quite a different landscape.
The coat is intended to go under a future water surface. It soaks into the bottom, closes its pores and at the same time gives it color, so a builder saves one step in the work and does not have to deal with how a sealer and paint get on with one another. The line of shades follows the scale that the naturalists Forel and Ule introduced for reading the color of lakes and seas, and its green steps correspond precisely to waters with a higher share of dissolved organic matter.
The green tone can be mixed freely with the further colors of the line. Under a deeper part of a watercourse leave the shade darker and lighten it on the shallows by a deposit. By the bank, where water runs over roots and stones, it helps to add a brownish cast. It also pays off to lay out in advance where the main current will run, because around it the bottom stays scoured and lighter than at the overgrown edges.
