AK interactive Wet Crackle Effects (100 ml)

An acrylic texture effect from the Spanish brand AK interactive developed to create the cracked surface of drying mud and soil, the typical cracked puddles and muddy areas that split as they dry. It is laid on in a thin layer and forms a network of cracks by itself as it dries. It is not a paint or a kit but a consumable weathering material. The result looks like a surface that is drying out and tearing into irregular plates. The package contains 100 ml.

Use

• For the cracked surface of dried mud on dioramas, vignettes and the undersides of vehicles
• Laid on in a thin layer with a brush; a characteristic network of cracks appears as it dries
• The thickness of the layer governs the size and density of the cracks
• Drying can be speeded up with a gentle stream of warm air from a hairdryer
• Once dry, the cracks can be picked out with a dark wash and pigments

Who it is for

For modelers and diorama builders who want to capture drying mud and cracked soil realistically: the bottoms of dried puddles, ruts and the edges of roads. Before using it on a model it pays to try the effect on a test panel and to tune the thickness of the layer. Suitable for advanced modelers and capable beginners.

A water-based acrylic material. Wash the brushes with water right after work, let the surface dry and keep the material out of the reach of children.
