Síra Hobby XL Pigment Paste Brown-Gray - a Water-Thinnable Patina

A pigment paste from the Czech manufacturer Síra Hobby in the larger XL package of 100 ml, in a brown-gray shade suitable for neutral, dusty earth and mixed mud. It is a water-thinnable patinating product with pigment and filler with which mud, dried earth and deposits of dust are built up on a model. The paste is non-toxic and, once thinned with water, creates fine deposits of dust on a surface.

Use

• Deposits of mud and earth on tracks, wheels, wheel arches and the undersides of vehicles.
• Earthy and dusty surfaces in dioramas and on bases.
• Once thinned with water, a deposit of dried grayish dust on the surfaces of a model.
• It is applied with a brush or a spatula; the consistency and the saturation can be adjusted with water.
• It is thinned and cleaned with water: it is a water-thinnable product, not an enamel or a lacquer.

How it differs from washes and filters

It is not a liquid wash that runs into engraved lines, nor a filter that shifts the tone of a surface. It is a thicker paste with pigment and filler for building up the structure and the volume of earth. This variant has a standard (finer) grain; the coarse variant serves for a more pronounced rough structure.
