What the tokens are for

Cube tokens are the simplest aid a table with figures knows. You lay them beside a unit or on a card and what you would otherwise have to remember is visible at once: how much damage a unit has already taken, how many rounds are left, whether it is activated, who holds which objective. Yellow shows up best on a dark surface, so it suits states you must not overlook, or telling the second player apart. Against paper markers they have the advantage that they do not slip, do not bend and are easy to pick up.

The workmanship

These are cubes with a 10 mm edge, that is one centimeter, in yellow acrylic. Acrylic is a hard plastic with a smooth surface and its color runs right through the material, so it cannot chip off at the edges the way it does on painted wood. Ten millimeters is among the common sizes of gaming tokens, so the cube takes up no more room on a base than it has to and yet is easy to reach for.

Tips on using them

It pays to agree with the other players on one meaning for a color and to keep to it for the whole game; otherwise the table soon fills up with cubes nobody can remember the meaning of. Store the tokens in a resealable bag or a small box so that they do not get lost. They are cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. Solvents, alcohol and nail polish remover do not belong on acrylic, as the surface would cloud and crack.
