A plastic kit of a light tank in 1:100 scale. The subject is a French machine that passed into German service after 1940 under the designation Pz.Kpfw. 40R 736(f).
Responsibility details are not available.
Under the designation Pz.Kpfw. 40R 736(f) the German army listed the captured French Renault R40 light tank. The letter f in brackets denoted, in the German system, captured equipment of French origin. It was a small tracked machine with a one-man turret and, for its weight class, strong armor, but with a modest road speed. After 1940 the vehicles taken over in this way served mainly for second-line duties, for training and for securing occupied territory.
This is an unglued and unpainted plastic kit in 1:100 scale. The small scale keeps the finished model within a few centimeters, so it suits larger formations, tabletop scenes and collections in which types of equipment stand side by side and are compared with one another. The exact number of parts and the extent of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off with a sharp knife a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that the fine relief is not damaged. Because of the size of the model it pays to paint with an airbrush, or in thin coats with a brush, and to bring out the raised details with a dark glaze in the gaps. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the paint manufacturer's directions on the bottle.
The set will please modelers who work on the hardware of the early Second World War and on captured machines in German service, as well as collectors building larger numbers of vehicles in one small scale. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
