Zebrano 1:100 T-40 is a resin kit of the Soviet amphibious light tank armed with a DShK heavy machine gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin kit of the Soviet T-40 amphibious light tank with a DShK machine gun in 1:100 scale. An unconventional subject from the opening phase of the fighting on the Eastern Front, it will round out a collection of Soviet vehicles as well as a game unit in 15 mm size. The resin castings are intended for more experienced modelers.
The T-40 reconnaissance tank of 1940 belonged to the last generation of Soviet amphibious tanks. In the water it was driven by a propeller, and swimming was helped by a shaped hull with a high flat bow. Its main weapon was a 12.7 mm DShK heavy machine gun supplemented by a 7.62 mm machine gun, and the crew was two men. The machine was deployed in the first months of the fighting between Germany and the Soviet Union, where it gradually gave way to the simpler non-swimming T-60.
Wash the resin parts in warm soapy water, cut off the casting blocks carefully and protect your airways while sanding; separate small parts such as the machine gun barrel with a sharp knife. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). An overall protective green with a fine wash comes out well; an interesting alternative is a diorama with a water surface, which recalls the amphibious character of the machine.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
