An injection-molded plastic kit of the Kawasaki ZZR 1400 road motorcycle in 1:12 scale. The large scale allows the frame, the engine, the exhaust headers and the suspension to be worked out, so the finished model is not just a faired shell. The build runs logically from the engine and the frame to the bodywork.
The ZZR 1400 was among the most powerful production road motorcycles of its day. It was built around a liquid-cooled inline four mounted across the frame and wrapped in a massive aerodynamic fairing with four headlights at the front. The design aimed at combining extreme acceleration with usability on a long trip, so the machine also offered a comfortable seating position and plenty of room for a passenger. The silhouette with its tall, wide front and smoothly falling tail is unmistakable.
Finish and paint the frame and the engine before you start on the bodywork, because you will not reach them later. Do not dip the chrome parts in thinner and do not glue them with cyanoacrylate, which leaves dull marks on them. A gloss body finish rests on a smooth base, so sand the joints carefully and lay a gloss coat on before the decals. The exhaust headers will take a blue and gold heat tint in the hottest places.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
