Decals in 1:144 for three legendary Lancasters, including the machine that still flies today in the colors of a Royal Air Force memorial flight.
Responsibility details are not available.
Among the thousands of Lancasters there is a handful whose names are known even to someone with no interest in bomber aviation. Machines like that are the subjects of this sheet: two combat veterans of 1944 and one aircraft that has survived to the present day.
Specifically these aircraft:
The first two machines are among the most often built Lancasters of all, because their noses were decorated with extensive artwork and rows of bomb symbols matching the dozens of raids completed. The third aircraft is a special case: PA474 has survived and still flies today in the colors of several historic machines as part of a memorial flight.
The combination in one package makes practical sense as well. Anyone building step by step gets three different chapters of the same type: two machines from the height of the night campaign over the Ruhr and one that stands for its commemoration after the war. The differences between them lie not only in the lettering but also in the equipment of the fuselage.
The sheet therefore suits a display case of classic night bombers as well as a build capturing the present-day form of the flying example. Applying them follows the usual rules: a gloss surface, a short soak, transfer with a brush. On the larger pieces of nose art, softener helps the film give way to the shape of the fuselage under the cockpit.
