1:144 C-141 Engines from Metallic Details is a resin set of engine nacelles for a model of the C-141 transport aircraft in 1:144 scale. This is an accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory cast in resin intended for a model of the large C-141 transport aircraft in 1:144 scale. The set deals with the engine nacelles, that is with the part where in a small scale the quality of the shape and the cleanness of the intake and the exhaust tell most. A resin casting holds sharper edges and a finer surface than a plastic molding. A model of the aircraft is not included in the package.
The C-141 is an American jet transport aircraft with a high-mounted wing and engines hung in nacelles under the wing, used for the strategic carriage of cargo and personnel. It served for several decades and was among the backbone of air transport. Its slender fuselage and large nacelles give a model in 1:144 scale a characteristic silhouette.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the residue of the mold release agent is removed, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw, not with nippers, which break resin. Work wet while sanding and with respiratory protection. It is glued with superglue; on larger parts you will appreciate a gel consistency, which leaves time to set it in place. Paint the inside of the nacelles before you seat them under the wing.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
