According to the name the set contains a pair of kits of a Russian naval tow tractor in 1:144 scale. It is a short-run model from the maker Offset Scale Models, who specializes in small deck and airfield equipment cast in resin and printed on a 3D printer. A double pack makes sense where the equipment logically repeats itself in a scene — on parking areas, decks and handling zones there tend to be several tractors.
Tractors of this type serve to move aircraft and helicopters around a surface, that is for work the machine cannot manage under its own power without losses and risk. They are low, heavy and fitted with a towing device; their presence in a scene immediately gives the model scale and an operational context. In 1:144 scale it is a very small object, which completes models of aircraft and ships into a whole.
With resin parts, first wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that residues of the mold release agent disappear — otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter; do not break them. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with superglue; glue for plastic does not work on resin. Apply the paint over a primer, and in such a small scale bet rather on fine shading and a dry brush than on pronounced washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
