The set holds photo-etched metal fenders and related parts for refining a large scale kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) light tank in 1:16 scale. It is not a tank model but an accessory for a kit already bought. As the second part (vol.2) it follows on from the basic set. The maker is the Polish firm Aber, a specialist in photo-etched and turned metal detail.
Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) was the German designation of a light tank of Czechoslovak origin (CKD/Praga, the TNH type). The fenders over the running gear were among the typical elements of the vehicle; in 1:16 scale they show to advantage with the realistic thickness of thin metal, which plastic cannot imitate.
Separate the photo-etched fenders with a sharp blade and shape them against the plastic part underneath; a bending tool will handle the fine bends. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue or a special glue for photo-etched metal. A metal edge makes it possible to render the bending and damage of the fenders realistically. Degrease the parts before painting and prime them.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
