About product

Aber 1:16 photo-etched German clamps and clasps (first choice)

A detail set in photo-etched metal from Aber in 1:16 scale with the clamps and clasps for securing tools and gear on German armored vehicles of the Second World War. The first choice designation sets this type of clamp apart from the other variants Aber makes. It is not a model but a universal metal accessory.

What the set is for

The clamps and clasps held shovels, pry bars, wrenches and other tools on the armor. In the large 1:16 scale photo-etched clamps with a faithful thickness and an opening mechanism look far more realistic than their molded plastic equivalents.

Building and painting tips

Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp blade, form the bends on a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, or soft solder them. The clamps can be shown either undone or fastened; after the primer, pick them out in color against the armor and bring them out with a wash.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building German vehicles in 1:16 scale
  • Anyone after faithful tool clamps on the armor
  • Anyone who wants to show tools lifted out of their brackets
  • More advanced builders working with photo-etched metal

This is a photo-etched detail set, not a tank model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
