Aber – Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf.E (Sd.Kfz.181) Tiger I, s.PzAbt. 501 in Tunisia (1:16) is a metal detail set for refining a model of the Tiger I in a particular combat deployment.
Responsibility details are not available.
This metal detail set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale is intended for refining a model of the German Tiger I, Ausf.E (Sd.Kfz.181) heavy tank in the form matching the heavy tank battalion s.PzAbt. 501 deployed in Tunisia. It is not a kit of the tank but a set of photo-etched and turned parts that take account of the particulars of that unit.
The 501st Heavy Tank Battalion (s.PzAbt. 501) was among the first units to take the Tiger I into combat, and it operated on the North African front in Tunisia. The vehicles of this unit had a number of characteristic details, and catching them faithfully strengthens the historical authenticity of a model.
Bend the photo-etched parts over the edge of a ruler and glue the turned and metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Fit the details in subassemblies and before closing the hull. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer so that the paint holds well.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
