A photo-etched brass detail set from Aber in 1:16 scale for the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank. The set reproduces the external box-type lubricant tank mounted on the vehicle, with a faithful sheet thickness and fine detail. It is an accessory, not a tank kit.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank of the start of the Second World War, armed with a 76 mm gun and famed for its heavy armor. External tanks for service fluids were among the characteristic elements of the vehicle and in 1:16 scale show to advantage in a photo-etched metal form.
Separate the parts from the fret, bend them exactly on a photo-etch bending tool and glue them together with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer; an airbrush is recommended, followed by washes.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The kit of the tank, glues and paints are not included in the package.
