About product

Aber 1:16 photo-etched add-on set for the Tiger I, Ausf.E (early version)

An add-on detail set in photo-etched metal from Aber in 1:16 scale for a large model of the German Tiger I, Ausf.E heavy tank in its early form. It is not a tank model but an extension set of metal parts that follows on from the basic set and adds further small detail to the exterior.

What the set is for

The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War (Pz.Kpfw. VI, Sd.Kfz. 181) armed with the 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun. The add-on set is meant for those who already have the basic set and want to take a model further still with more photo-etched elements in the early form.

Building and painting tips

Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp blade, form the bends on a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, or soft solder them. Lay down a primer for metal before painting; the small details will stand out under dry-brushing and the weathering that follows.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the Tiger I in 1:16 scale
  • Anyone who already has the basic set and wants to go further
  • Anyone after the fullest fidelity in the early version
  • More advanced builders working with photo-etched metal

This is a photo-etched detail set, not a tank model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
