The set from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch holds two resin replicas of the British Vickers aircraft machine gun in the Hyland Type E form with a loading handle. The large 1:16 scale allows an exceptional level of detail. The package is an accessory for modelers, not a kit of an airplane in its own right.
The Vickers was the standard fixed, forward-firing synchronized machine gun of British and Allied fighters of the Great War in 7.7 mm caliber (.303). The Hyland Type E form with its characteristic loading handle made working the weapon from the pilot's seat easier. The casting captures the barrel cooling jacket, the body of the weapon and the mechanism.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand with respiratory protection. In a large scale, steel shades, fine dry-brushing and a discreet patina come out well.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
