Zombie Walker in Radiation Suit, a 1:16 figure from MAiM: a walking zombie figure in a full-body protective suit for post-apocalyptic dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure from MAiM, a specialist in modern and post-apocalyptic subjects, portrays a walking zombie wrapped in a full-body protective suit. In the large 1:16 scale both the folds of the suit and the overall body language stand out; it is a solitary piece around which a whole diorama story can be built.
The figure lends itself directly to post-apocalyptic scenes: abandoned buildings, a contaminated zone, a wrecked laboratory or a street after an evacuation. The 1:16 scale matches large figure dioramas and can be combined with vehicles and accessories in the same scale. The walking pose supports the dynamics of a scene, and the viewer works out for themselves where the figure is dragging itself from and to.
Clean the casting up, wash it and prime it. The protective suit is a rewarding area for experiments with color: a muted yellow, olive or gray, backed up with washes in the folds and pigments imitating dust and dirt. The exposed parts of the zombie come out well in unhealthy gray-green tones with dark washes. A final matte clear coat evens the scene out.
The figure is supplied unpainted, as a casting to be cleaned up and painted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
