A model of an artillery piece that is known by the nickname Napoleon, in 1:18 scale. That is among the large modeling scales: a figure one hundred and eighty centimeters tall would measure ten centimeters in it, so the gun itself comes out at a size you do not have to hunt for on a shelf among small items. The large format makes it possible to bring out the things that get lost in small scales, that is transitions of shade, battered edges, the dulled metal of the gun barrel and traces of wear.
The gun will carry the role of the main object in a display case and will serve just as well as the center of a smaller scene. A piece of ground, a few crates and a figure of matching size are all it takes to create a scene with a story. In a large scale it also stands out how big the piece is against a human figure, which is always the strongest impression artillery makes.
Cut any surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, and choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Apply the paint in thin coats, so that the texture of the surface stays visible; a dark wash in the gaps and gentle emphasis of the edges with a drybrush will bring the shape out without complicated techniques.
For modelers and collectors who work in large scales and build scenes with figures. Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
