A miniature coffee cup in 1:24 scale from the diorama line of the Polish brand Yamamoto Model Parts. It is a free-standing accessory for a scene, something that gets put on a workbench, on the top of a tool cabinet or on the fender of a car that is being worked on. It is not installed into a car kit in any way and on its own it makes up no model at all.
The difference between a display-case model and a convincing scene is made by the things somebody left behind. A cup set down is exactly that kind of signal: it tells the viewer at once that somebody was standing in the workshop a moment ago. It is at the same time one of the few elements where the size is utterly uncompromising, as a cup of the wrong scale ruins the impression of a whole scene faster than missing tools, because everybody knows how big a cup is. That is why it pays to reach for a part cast for 1:24 scale directly, not for an improvisation.
The part is small, so separate it with a sharp hobby knife and rather leave it on a piece of its carrier until it is painted, as that gives you something to hold it by. Before painting, wash it in lukewarm water with dish soap and spray it with a thin coat of primer. Ceramic looks best in a glossy finish, which means a rich color and a gloss varnish at the end. Coffee left in the bottom can be suggested with a drop of dark clear resin or of gloss varnish in a dark brown shade; apply it once the inside of the cup is painted.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and further parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
