Eduard 1:24 F6F-5 TFace is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for covering the cockpit glazing while painting a model in 1:24 scale. The TFace designation means the set covers masking of the outer as well as the inner side.

This is a modeling accessory, not a kit. The package contains pre-cut self-adhesive masks that are applied to the transparent parts of a model of the F6F-5 carrier fighter in 1:24 scale and protect them while paint is sprayed. The cockpit frames thus stay crisp and straight without the lengthy cutting of adhesive tape. The letter T in the TFace designation refers to the fact that the set also deals with the inner side of the glazing, which matters in the large 1:24 scale, because there really is a view into the cockpit.
In large scales the cockpit frame is visible from inside as well as outside, and the view into the interior is one of the main effects of a finished model. If the frame is painted only from outside, the view will reveal bare clear plastic and the illusion falls apart. Masking from both sides makes it possible to spray the interior color from inside and the covering shade of the fuselage from outside, so the framing looks just as it did on the real aircraft.
First degrease the transparent parts and let them dry completely so that the mask will hold. Take the masks out of the sheet with the sharp point of a scalpel or with tweezers, and do not stretch them as you lay them down: a stretched film will shrink after spraying and a stripe will appear under the edge. Press the edges down with a wooden toothpick once applied, so that paint does not bleed under. Spray in thin coats and take the masks off while the paint has only just dried, not after several days. Residues of adhesive can be wiped away with a cotton bud moistened in alcohol.
This is not a model nor a kit but an accessory for painting one. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
