The model captures a patrol car of a Japanese prefectural police force, that is the standard with beacons, additional equipment and the characteristic two-tone paint. The exact number of parts, the content of the decal sheet and the extent of the police equipment are stated on the box of the kit.
The generation of the Toyota Crown designated by the chassis code GRS180 was built from 2003. It was a prestige sedan with rear-wheel drive and V6 engines with direct injection. On the Japanese market the Crown is among the traditional vehicles of the public administration and the police; patrol standards additionally receive a light bar, radio equipment and further features. It is exactly these standards that form a separate and popular category with Japanese kit makers.
Two-tone paint is the most demanding part of the whole build on police cars. Apply the lighter shade first, let it mature properly and only then mask and spray the darker color — the other way around there is a risk that the masking tape will lift fresh paint. Run the dividing line along the engraving on the body. Finish the light bar and the clear lenses separately and glue them with a cement for clear parts. Lay the decals on a glossy base and fix them with a clear coat so that the edges do not show.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
