The Landini 16000 DT is a powerful agricultural tractor with four-wheel drive (DT stands for Doppia Trazione, meaning dual drive). It was built in the second half of the 1980s and was technically based on the tractors of the Massey Ferguson group, being closely related to the MF 2785 model. It was powered by a turbocharged diesel engine and the machine was meant for heavy field work, plowing and hauling trailers. The large glazed cab that gives the driver a good view and comfort is characteristic.
Split the tractor into main subassemblies, the engine, the gearbox, the cab and the running gear, and paint them separately so that you can reach into the corners. Finish the cab interior before you fit the glazing. Light weathering suits a faithful look: dust pigments on the underside and the wheels, and a gentle wash in the recesses and engraved lines. The large body panels come out best over a smooth glossy base.
