A plastic kit of the first-generation Mazda Savanna RX-7 sports coupe in 1:24 scale. You will recognize the car with the factory code SA22C by its pop-up headlights and its sloping tail.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mazda Savanna RX-7 with the factory code SA22C is the first generation of the sports coupe that went into production at the end of the 1970s. On the Japanese home market the cars were sold under the name Savanna RX-7, on export markets simply as the RX-7. Characteristic of it are the pop-up headlights, the sloping tail with a large glazed hatch and the low nose, made possible by the compact rotary engine mounted behind the front axle.
It is a plastic kit of a passenger car in 1:24 scale, that is in the most widespread scale for road cars. The extent of the parts, the treatment of the interior and the chassis and the contents of the enclosed decal sheet differ between individual releases; what is binding is always the instruction sheet enclosed in the box.
Wash the body in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent before painting and let it dry thoroughly, so that the finish holds well. Apply the paint in thin coats and let the surface set between them; with deep shades a base coat will help. Fit the glazing and the pop-up headlights only once the finish is done and use a glue that will not cloud clear parts. Leave the chrome details right to the end.
The set will please collectors of Japanese sports cars as well as modelers who build road vehicles of the 1970s and 1980s. Basic equipment is enough for the build: nippers, a sharp knife, sandpaper and cement for plastic. Paints, clear coats, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
