Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. The subject is the Volkswagen Type 2, that is the microbus known as the Bulli or the Transporter, in a version associated with the Moon Equipped brand from the American custom car culture. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Volkswagen Type 2 came about on the technical basis of the Beetle and from the turn of the 1940s and 1950s established itself as a universal utility and passenger vehicle. An air-cooled four-cylinder at the rear, a flat front wall with split or panoramic windows and a simple structure made it an icon that survived decades of production. In North America the Type 2 became a favorite platform for conversions: a lowered chassis, racing rims and bold graphics belong to the typical look of vehicles associated with the hot rod and custom scene. It is from this world that the styling this release focuses on comes.
The large flat body surfaces of a microbus are merciless toward every imperfection, so spend time sanding the parting lines and on a filler primer. Plan two-tone painting beforehand: spray the lighter shade first, let it cure thoroughly and only then mask the transition with good modeling tape. Apply decals with bold graphics onto a gloss coat and use a softener, so that they draw down into the pressings. Bring out the chrome strips and bumpers with a fine brush, and finish the interior and the dashboard before closing the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
