A plastic kit of the legendary Japanese coupe in 1:24 scale from the maker Aoshima, which has long specialized in Japanese production and modified cars. The model captures the version with the factory designation KPGC110, that is, the second generation of the Skyline GT-R. The Skyline of the C110 generation became established among fans of the brand under the nickname Ken and Mary, after the pair of characters from the advertising campaign of the period. The top GT-R version with the designation KPGC110 took over from the previous generation the S20 inline six of two liters with DOHC valve gear and four valves per cylinder, that is, an engine derived from racing practice. The car was sold only very briefly and in a small number of pieces, because the oil crisis and tightened emission regulations intervened in its life cycle. The GT-R then disappeared for long years and returned only with the R32 generation at the end of the nineteen-eighties. That is precisely why the KPGC110 is one of the most sought-after types among collectors of Japanese cars, even though it practically never made its mark on the circuits.
On a model of a car the body is the main visible surface, so it pays to rid it carefully of the parting lines before painting and to sand it with progressively finer abrasive. Spray the paint in thin coats, let it dry through thoroughly and only then polish it. Seat the decals on a gloss intermediate coat, otherwise a silvery veil will appear under the film. Build and paint the interior completely before you close the body; on a finished model it can no longer be reached. The chrome parts must not be degreased with an aggressive solvent; remove a fingerprint from them only with lukewarm soapy water. Never glue the tires with cyanoacrylate glue directly onto a painted wheel, as the paint could be damaged.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
