This product is a printed paper accessory for building dioramas in 1:24 scale. It is not a plastic kit, not a photo-etched set and not a waterslide decal. The motifs of wanted-type posters from the setting of the American Wild West are printed on a sheet and the modeler cuts them out of it and glues them where they belong in a scene.
A decal is transferred onto a surface and merges with it, so that once dry its own thickness practically disappears. Printed paper behaves differently: it has an edge of its own, a slight texture and casts a small shadow. That is precisely what is desirable with a posted-up poster, because in reality it was a sheet of paper nailed or glued onto wood, sheet metal or a wall. A paper sheet therefore suits everywhere that it should be evident at first glance that this is a separately posted print.
The motifs come into their own on the walls of wooden buildings, on posts, board fences, doors and on notice boards. In 1:24 scale the area of a poster is large enough to become a bold element of the composition, so it pays to place rather fewer of them and in the places where the viewer's eye turns naturally.
Cut with a new blade along a steel rule, so that the edge is clean and not frayed. Glue with a thin layer of PVA glue or matte glue applied to the undercoat, not to the paper. With rough wood it helps to dampen the paper from the back lightly and press it down, so that it follows the relief. You achieve aging by lightly toning the edges, gently fraying the corners and going over it with a thinned wash; at the end spray with matte clear coat, which unifies the sheen with the surroundings.
