1:24 Road Sign for City Area Painted

Road Sign for City Area Painted 1:24 - Fujimi road signs

The set belongs among diorama accessories, not among kits of vehicles. It holds items of urban road signage in 1:24 scale, that is in the same scale in which most car models are built. According to the title it is the painted version, which with signs means a fundamental saving of work, because the signage itself is the most demanding painting on a model, since the pictograms and lettering are already really small in this scale. The exact number and kinds of sign are given on the packaging and in the instructions in the package.

Use in building a scene

• Signage gives a finished car scale and context. One post beside a vehicle does more for the impression a photograph makes than another detail under the hood.
• We recommend thinning the posts down and removing the flash before fitting them, because in reality they are slimmer than they come out of a mold.
• Protect the painted surface with masking tape during further work, or varnish it only after fitting, so that it is not scratched.
• A light soiling of the lower part of a post and a fine matte overcoat, which evens the gloss of the whole scene out, will add to how convincing it looks.
• Anchor a post into the base with a pin, not merely onto the surface. Signage that has been put up is the most vulnerable part of a diorama.

Who the set is for

For builders of car models in 1:24 who want to put a model into an urban scene, for makers of display-case dioramas and for photographers of models, for whom a sign in the background reveals at once where a scene is set. The set can be combined with figures and garage accessories of the same scale as well.

The accessory is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
