This unassembled and unpainted plastic kit in 1:24 scale captures the Japanese Toyota Succeed utility station wagon in the NCP160V version after the 2014 update. The kit is made by the Japanese company Aoshima in its The Model Car range. The package holds masking stickers for the window frames, thanks to which the black surrounds around the glazing are easy to paint.
The Succeed is the sibling model of the Probox wagon, with which it shares both body and mechanicals and from which it differs above all in its sales channel and in details of the equipment and the front grille. The car is built for business and service use — a flat load area, a low loading lip and an emphasis on durability. The XP16 series appeared in August 2014 as a more marked update of the earlier XP5 series and brought a newly shaped front end with a multifaceted motif. In Japan this pair is among the most common company cars, and in model form it appears only exceptionally.
Clean the body up, sand it down and lay a primer under it. Utility vehicles most often wear simple single-color finishes, so the evenness of the spraying decides. Spray the paint in thin coats and at the end use a gloss varnish that can be polished out. Stick the masking stickers on exactly along the outline of the window frames and spray the black with a matte paint. Finish the interior and the chassis before you close the body up. Do not glue the tires with a cement for plastic, which attacks the soft material; use cyanoacrylate in the smallest possible amount. Apply the decals only over a gloss base and bring the surface together at the end with a varnish coat to the gloss level you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
