Responsibility details are not available.
A finished scaled-down model of the M4A1 carbine fitted with the M203 underbarrel grenade launcher, in 1:3 scale. The model is supplied assembled and painted, so nothing is glued or sprayed. It is not a functional weapon but a collector exhibit intended for display.
The M4A1 is the carbine variant of the American 5.56 mm assault rifle with a shortened barrel and a telescoping stock, thanks to which the length of the weapon can be matched to the build and the kit of the shooter. The M203 is a single-shot 40 mm underbarrel grenade launcher that is fitted under the barrel and loaded by sliding the barrel forward. The combination of the two weapons was part of the usual equipment of infantry squads, because it let one shooter act both with direct fire and against targets behind cover. The model captures this combination as a whole, including the characteristic longer handguard and the additional sights for the grenade launcher.
The model has a surface finish applied to match the real subject and is ready to be displayed straight away. The reduction to 1:3 keeps the layout of both weapons legible, so it is clearly apparent how the grenade launcher is attached to the rifle. A flat display case or a shelf where the model lies stably and cannot tip over suits it for display. Remove the dust with a soft dry brush rather than a cloth, which could catch on the sights and small projections. Do not use solvents or oils and do not expose the model to direct sun.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not a functional weapon; the model does not fire and is not intended for children.
