A limited edition from the Czech manufacturer Eduard (based in Obrnice near Most) in 1:48 scale. As a Dual Combo it contains two complete models of the Grumman F4F Wildcat carrier fighter and makes it possible to build the early and the later form (the F4F-3 and the F4F-4). The box is built around the Battle of Midway (June 1942). Photo-etched parts focused on the cockpit, masking templates and decals with a range of marking options are included; paints and glue are not.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was the main carrier fighter of the US Navy at the beginning of the war in the Pacific. The rugged single-seat machine with retractable landing gear proved itself even against more agile opponents thanks to its armor and its toughness. At Midway the Wildcats played a key part in defending the aircraft carriers. The edition covers machines in service between 1940 and June 1942.
Use the photo-etched parts supplied for the cockpit and the masking templates for clean canopy glazing. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and apply primer before the airbrush. Go through the decal sheet before you choose a version; with two models in the box you can build an impressive pair. The dark blue-gray and gray-white naval scheme benefits from subtle shading and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
