This Aviattic sheet in 1:32 scale combines two practical qualities: the strips of the four-color polygon pattern are pre-joined just as they lay on the real covering, and the shades match the faded variant — fabric faded by sun and front-line use. It is made for the upper sides of the flying surfaces, that is the wings and the tail surfaces.
The most demanding part of decal covering is the precise joining of the individual strips of the pattern. Here that work is already done in the printing: it is enough to trace the shape of a wing or a stabilizer, cut the panel out and transfer it whole. The joins between the strips stay visible exactly as they should — on real machines they formed the characteristic drawing of the covering. The time saved can be given to the weathering and the details that really sell a model.
Work on a gloss base and with a softener so that the printing settles onto the ribs. The faded shades positively invite further weathering: once clear coated, try fine oil glazes or lightening the bays between the ribs. A matte finish will complete the impression of tired fabric.
A decal sheet is an add-on — the model, varnishes and weathering products are not included in the package.
