Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Czech brand Eduard containing models of the AIM-132 ASRAAM guided missile in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but supplementary armament meant to be hung under the wing or on the wingtip pylons of a combat aircraft model. The number of pieces in the box and the exact parts breakdown are given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
The AIM-132 ASRAAM is a short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance, developed in Great Britain. It is marked out by a slender body of large diameter with no forward control surfaces and with the aerodynamic surfaces concentrated at the rear, which gives it a characteristic smooth shape different from older missiles in the same class. It appears in the armament of modern combat aircraft.
Wash the resin castings first in lukewarm water with detergent so that traces of the mold release agent are removed, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks away with a fine saw or a cutting disc, never break them off, and wear a respirator or sand wet. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary plastic cement does not work. Apply a primer before painting. The body of the missile has a smooth surface, so it pays to sand away every trace of the parting line carefully, otherwise they will stand out under the varnish. Leave the fitting to the very end so that the stores are not damaged while the model is handled.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
