Four pieces of the AIM-9J guided missile from the Sidewinder family in 1:32 scale. An armament accessory for an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sidewinder is an American short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance, that is one that finds its target by the heat it radiates. The AIM-9J form came about by modifying an older version for the US Air Force and was part of the armament of fighters in the 1970s. In shape it is a slender body with forward control surfaces and rear stabilizing surfaces.
Four pieces of the missile in 1:32 scale, as the name states. Accessory missiles suit cases where a kit offers only a simplified shape, or when you want to put together a different fit of armament under the wings from the one the kit manufacturer allowed for. Whether pylons and launch rails are also in the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the body of the missile stays smooth and symmetrical. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. The thin surfaces are fragile; support them while sanding. Compare the fit of armament and the placement of the missiles with photographs of the machine you are building.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
