An accessory for a large model of the late German fighter: masking sheets for the glazing and the insignia plus two metal muzzles.
Responsibility details are not available.
Anyone building a British or American fighter has to deal with a battery of weapons scattered across the whole span. Such an arrangement called for so-called convergence of fire, that is setting the barrels so that the paths of the rounds crossed at a chosen distance, usually around two hundred meters. Nearer or farther from that point the fire spread out. The German designer went the opposite way and mounted everything close to the axis of the fuselage, so he did not have to set any convergence and the effect of the fire was independent of the distance.
The late development branch that this set covers had a pair of machine guns of 13 mm caliber above the engine. You will find their muzzles in the package as turned metal parts. In a scale where the fuselage is around thirty centimeters long, the difference between metal and a plastic stub really is visible, because the opening of the barrel at this enlargement is about the size of a pinhead and a viewer will look into it from half a meter away.
Besides the pair of metal parts the box contains masks for the cockpit canopy for both sides and two masks for the national insignia. The cut corresponds to the kit from the Hasegawa brand. During the build it is useful to fit the metal muzzles at the very end, after painting and after the masks are removed. A projecting metal part catches easily on a cloth or on the edge of a work mat and bends.
